Today is my last day working for Families Together. The reason why is Chris Curry Director of Families Together told me about a year and a half ago that she is going to retire this May. So it is time for me to move on also. It would not be the same for me without Chris here.
In addition the bus ride from Moscow to Pullman is difficult for me to do every day. Last summer the bus didn't run so I had to work in Moscow. When Irene Lundsford, who works for the Center on Disabilities and Human Development (CDHD) heard that the bus wasn't running she called my Mom. Our families have been friends since my family lived in Bovill and Irene lived in Deary. Irene has known me a for my whole life. She said that Ron Siler, who also works at the center would be out of the office for the summer and I could use his office.
I liked working at the CDHD office and really got to know everyone. So when a job opportunity came along at CDHD, I decided to try for it. To make a long story short, I had an interview with the Assistive Technology Department and they offered me the job. I accepted and will be doing data inputting as well as demonstrating the equipment that is available.
I have been worked here for eighteen years and I have to say this. I am honored to have worked with Chris Curry.
